General Questions
What is the active ingredient 2-deoxy-D-ribose and how does it work?
2-Deoxy-D-ribose (2dDR) is a sugar molecule that plays a central role in biochemistry. It is a modified form of ribose, a sugar found in RNA. For example, 2dDR supports the stability of the double helix in the backbone of DNA.
A study published in the journal Frontiers in Pharmacology found that treatment with the natural sugar could be as effective as minoxidil-based solutions, but without some of the negative side effects.
2-deoxy-D-ribose has shown in several preclinical studies to increase blood flow to the skin. It upregulates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and stimulates angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing blood vessels. This increased blood flow could also stimulate hair growth

Are there any side effects?
The unique formulation of the products, which uses as few ingredients as possible, is designed so that there are hardly any side effects.
Most users tolerate ribogrow well. However, if you have a sensitive scalp or are allergic to one of the ingredients, irritation may occur. We recommend checking the ingredients before using for the first time.
How long does it take for ribogrow to work?
The duration of the effect of ribogrow varies from person to person. Usually, the first changes in hair growth are visible after several weeks. Patience and regular use are important to achieve optimal results.
Basically, similar to the use of Minoxidil, the product is intended to stop hereditary hair loss. It can also stimulate new hair growth in men.
What do the studies say about the active ingredient
A recent study published in the journal Frontiers in Pharmacology shows promising results regarding the use of 2-deoxy-D-ribose to promote hair growth. This study used an animal model of androgenetic alopecia to investigate the effectiveness of the sugar. The results suggest that 2-deoxy-D-ribose can significantly promote hair follicle regeneration by increasing the rate of cell division and reducing oxidative stress in the hair follicles.
The researchers found that after regular use of 2-deoxy-D-ribose, the treated animals had increased hair density compared to a control group. This suggests that the substance has the potential to support hair growth and combat hair loss. The study highlights the antioxidant properties of 2-deoxy-D-ribose, which help protect hair follicles from free radical damage.
These results are particularly promising because oxidative stress is one of the main causes of weakening and loss of hair follicles. By reducing this stress, 2-deoxy-D-ribose could offer an effective, natural solution to promote hair growth.
Are the results transferable?
The transferability of the results to humans is considered plausible, since the underlying biological mechanisms of hair follicle regeneration in mammals are similar and the mechanism of action described here can be easily transferred from the animal model to humans in other areas. In particular, the antioxidative effects and the promotion of cell proliferation observed in the animal study are processes that also play a crucial role in the human hair follicle.
What other studies are there?

² Angiogenesis is the biological process by which new blood vessels are formed from pre-existing capillaries. This process is essential for the growth and regeneration of tissues as it ensures the supply of oxygen and nutrients. Angiogenesis is crucial for supplying hair follicles with oxygen, nutrients and other important growth factors. Hair follicles are surrounded by a dense network of blood vessels that supply them during the growth cycle. Good blood circulation is necessary to provide sufficient nutrients to the hair follicles and support hair growth.
³ Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is a signaling protein that plays a crucial role in angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels). It promotes the growth and permeability of blood vessels, especially in tissues that are deprived of oxygen.
In addition to scientific studies, we continuously improve our formulas in close cooperation with experts. This way we ensure that our products are not only highly effective, but also particularly well tolerated.
Why is ribogrow odorless and colorless?
The idea behind ribogrow was to develop a naturally effective remedy for hair loss that has no side effects. That's why our formulas are kept as simple as possible, without unnecessary additives and as close as possible to formulas that have been scientifically evaluated.
Fragrances, including natural ones such as essential oils, can cause irritation not only in people with allergies but also in healthy skin. They are one of the most frequently cited causes of contact allergies, and around one in five people are sensitive to them - often without knowing it. The same can apply to dyes. That's why ribogrow uses formulas without fragrances and dyes.
